At the end of each Jack Chick tract we find the following plan of salvation.
Jack Chick's "be willing to turn from sins" at the end of each of their tracts is PROOF that they are portraying salvation as a deal and not a gift(The Scriptures speak of salvation as a free gift!). It's like saying to someone, "I will give you this car as a free gift, BUT you must be willing to wash it before I will give it to you". Not exactly a gift! And the implication is clear they must be willing do something to have the car.
Salvation is never presented in the Bible as a 4 step plan(not one example can be found in the Bible of this). Only the issue presented in step 3 is relevant to getting saved.(It's the job of the Holy Spirit to convict the lost sinner of their sins and their need of the Savior!) The Bible commands "preach the gospel to every creature"(Mark 16:15). Inside 1 Cor 15:1-4 is the gospel. Anything presented as the gospel(ie:plan of salvation) that is not the gospel("any other gospel"-Gal 1:8) being preached is first of all disobedience to the Word of God, and second of all, salvation by works because something is being ADDED. I don't see "turning from your sins" in 1 Cor 15:1-4.
Many people say it is a matter of semantics, I say if it does not match with the Word of God PRECISELY, it is false. Satan oftentimes says a lot of half-truths to deceive(Yes this image I have posted says some true things!). This is why the Bible should be our final authority in every WORD spoken and life lived.
"But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." Matt 4:4
God has NEVER commanded us to present salvation to lost sinners as a "step-by-step" process. The Bible does not say "preach a plan", it commands "preach the GOSPEL". Sadly Jack Chick is poisoning multitudes with this deadly salvation by works in disguise message. I exhort you or anyone you know who are distributing these tracts to immediately get rid of them and start preaching the gospel.
